The Faculty Senate is engaged in the following initiatives and long-term projects:
- Making the UA campus smoke- and tobacco-free.
- Investigating recent allegations with regard to the university Greek system, and formulating recommendations for its reform. To this end the Senate will elect and charge a special task force.
- Working with the Administration to prepare for upcoming SACS accreditation review.
