The Second Annual Brewer-Porch Children’s Center Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon was held during Teacher Appreciation Week on May 5th.  The Cinco de Mayo themed luncheon was catered by Taco Mama and enjoyed by eighty BPCC faculty and staff.  This event was a service project organized by the Faculty Senate’s Community & Legislative Affairs Committee and co-sponsored by the Office, Clerical and Technical Staff Assembly and the Professional Staff Assembly.

Three volunteers are seen preparing for the event. One volunteer is preparing the boxes, and one volunteer is getting reach to add tortillas to a box meal.

Thank you so much for providing lunch for the staff of Brewer-Porch Children’s Center. As you may know, we serve youth with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and many of them live on our campus. This work is very rewarding, even while COVID-19 has presented a new and evolving set of challenges. Our team members, and particularly those who work directly with the children, have been wonderful in adapting to any changes that we have had to make while still providing our residents with the best possible care.   Mental health is an essential need, particularly in these uncertain times, and we are grateful for your recognition of the efforts of our dedicated employees.  I cannot thank you enough for helping show our appreciation for all of our team members’ hard work and dedication to BPCC. This was a much needed pick-me-up for our staff and everyone enjoyed the terrific food from Taco Mama on Cinco de Mayo!
