Do you have a distinguished colleague or know of a full-time faculty member who deserves special recognition? The Faculty Senate seeks nominations of esteemed regular full-time faculty to lead The University of Alabama’s Spring 2026 graduation ceremonies as Commencement Marshal. The honored faculty members chosen as Commencement Marshals will carry the mace as a symbol of the University President’s authority to confer degrees. While college-specific graduation dates/times have yet to be established, every effort will be made to place nominees with the graduation ceremony associated with their college or school.
Nominations must include rank, tenure status, and division of the nominee, and a brief written Statement of Support of no more than 300 words in length.
